Once again, Marina Kaštela hosted the international social-pedagogic project entitled Mirno more Peacefleet. The project features a week of sailing on the Adriatic for children from marginalised groups from entire Europe with the goal of casting away prejudices and building peace.
The fleet consisting of 97 boats, 800 children and 200 volunteers spent two days in Marina Kaštela enjoying numerous activities. It has been a great honour for us to host this fleet once again and provide them with free berths, parking and internet.
Ms.Maja Markovčić Kostelac, the State Secretary, visited the project this year on behalf of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure that ensured that the entire fleet got free berths in all ports in the Dalmatian counties this year.
Marina Kaštela and Bavadria were the main sailing sponsors of this project for the crew of the Mirno more Marina Kaštela that included 4 boats for young persons with diabetes, children without adequate parental care and persons with mental disabilities. This year, 20 persons went sailing accompanied by volunteer skippers, care givers and doctors.
