Sailing trip Split-Dubrovnik, July 2007
Dear Bav-Adria Team!
As always we received a kindly welcome and a perfect service in the marina Kastela thanks to Armano, Daniel, etc. Our new crew members were very surprised about size, equipment, cleanliness and the sanitary rooms of the marina. The SY was in a perfect condition and, not for the first time, the embarkation took place before 17:00h so that we were able to sail out and reach a bay on the southern side of the island Šolta. The next day we continued our trip to the island Biševo to visit the famous “blue cave”. It is a natural phenomenon but we believe that the entrance of 30 kuna per person is a bit too high. The afternoon we spend in Komiža, had lunch and afterwards we continued our trip to a bay on the “Hell islands” to spend the night. Next morning we visited Hvar town and found a berthing place in the ACI marina Palmižana. The Island of Lastovo was our next goal. A slight NE wind took us to the island. Pure and untouched nature still remains on this island which is one of my favorites! We found a place in the Skrivena bay where you can find 2 excellent restaurants with clean sanitary rooms, crystal clean water and gorgeous mountains offering a fantastic view. After the night spent in Korcula – the hometown of the famous explorer Marko Polo – we continued our trip towards the Mljet national park. There we found a marvelously bay with flowering Cactuses. We decided to spend the night in the same bay to enjoy the paradise with a glass or two of the homemade BAVADRIA wine. The last day we sailed down to Dubrovnik to disembark and visit the famous and glorious old town of Dubrovnik inside the big walls.
On Saturday we were driven by a cab to the ferry, which took 9 hours to reach Split where we were already expected and driven to the marina Kastela by the Bavadria minivan. A perfect organisation!
Some part of the crew spent one night more in the apartments of Bavadria before they continued their trip home.
I want to say THANKS once again to the whole BAVADRIA team in Graz and in Kastela for the perfect and smooth organisation.
