Komiža Regatta 2015

On Friday 29 May starting from Sustipan the traditional Komiža Regatta 2015 was held and in which the crew of Marina Kaštela took part. Forty sailing yachts in several categories were racing. In the first part of the regatta, all the way to Maslinica on Šolta island there was a light wind, until the exit from Maslinica. On leaving Maslinica the wind increased and was 7 – 8 knots all way until entering the Komiža bay.

In the first phase of the regatta our sailing yacht arrived second, after Full Pelta. Saturday was the day for break and socializing, so we took time for some sightseeing of Komiža and Vis.

The start of the second phase was planned for Sunday 31 May at 9.00 hrs, but due to the lack of wind, the regatta board decided that sailing yachts be moved to the position between Vid and Vodnjak.

After less than one hour the race started at light wind of 7-8 knots, towards the Splitska vrata (Split Gate).

Just after the start Full Pet, a light sailing yacht, took the leading position and kept it all the way till the finish of the race in Split.

The sailing yacht “Marina Kastela” arrived second in its category OPEN and was first in the group OPEN 0
